  • South End Holiday Stroll 2015!

Last night was the 7th Annual South End Holiday Shop Local Dine Local Night! We had such a fun time kicking off December with this event; it's always such an amazing night. Despite the pouring rain, our shop was packed with people eager to get in the holiday spirit and start some shopping! It was great to see so many of our loyal customers, fellow South End business owners, and so many new faces walk through our doors! It was all hands on deck, but I snapped some photos as the night went on! Here's a peek:

  • Introducing Uxibal!!!

Here's one of our newest additions, a brand named Uxibal. At Flock, we take pride in carrying brands with amazing stories, purpose, and product. Uxibal is definitely a special one:

    Uxibal Trenza Cut out Boot

"Uxibal" itself means "sister in the Mayan language Qu’iche’ and represents our company’s desire to improve the lives of women in Guatemala—a traditionally male-dominated society. We work with women of indigenous Mayan descent, living in circumstances of extreme poverty, domestic violence, and sexual abuse."

"Based in Guatemala and 100% hand-crafted by local artisans, Uxibal’s signature style uniquely re-imagines traditional Mayan textiles into high end, contemporary-bohemian designs. Each Uxibal collection reflects the ‘Eternal Spring’ climate of it’s Central American roots through versatile pieces that are season-less and perfect for traveling. From artisan leather cut-out boots with hand-braided straps and one-of-a-kind fringe clogs, to luxe leather handbags and handwoven tribal print d’orsay flats, Uxibal transcends Mayan culture and appeals to an international market."

Nothing more amazing than that; improving the lives of women in the world, staying true to traditional textiles, and creating amazing, high quality shoes. Not to mention the boots are ALL leather, inside, outside, and even the heel is made of stacked leather! The clogs are made of  distressed brown leather with a white pine platform! All made to last, break in perfectly , and be your go-to shoes.

We had some bags in store too, but they sold out so fast they didn't make it online! Here's our Uxibal collection:

  • Herringbone Chambray

untitled_May 13, 2016-12Spring is here! Which means we are able to have the most versatile wardrobe ever. Right now, Flock has some seriously crazy markdowns. If you saw the previous post about our Studio Sale, well we've brought the studio sale back to the store and are continuing to give additional 20-50% off the lowest prices on the tags. These little beauties right here are my favorites of the bunch. Free People  Herringbone Chambray joggers. I mean, just take a good look at them. The whole joggers trend is something that you're going to continue to see for the next few seasons, so why not step it up a notch and grab yourself these denim ones. You look a little more dressed up than you would in typical jogger sweatpants, but yet you look super laid back while looking beyond cool. Can't get enough of them, putting these on repeat for all of Spring/Summer. Grab yourself a pair before they are long gone! XO // Britnie

  • Get to Know Janessa Leone!

    Janessa Leone

We LOVE Janessa Leone at Flock. ASIDE from amazing hats, the company has an amazing story!

Here's why we are so obsessed:

"Janessa recalls growing up, venturing into her grandfather’s closet to try on clothes, pieces from his past, that told his entire life story: “There is an ever-present air that you embody when you put on a perennial piece of clothing; like you are a part of something bigger than you could ever imagine. That love for nostalgia, whether it is clothing, accessories, or furniture, has never escaped me. There is an undeniable poise that I possess when I wear my grandfather’s vintage hat or my grandmother’s jewelry; a poise that you can only possess by wearing something that was created with incomparable craftsmanship.”

    Janessa Leone
    Janessa Leone

"Over time through wear, the hats mold intimately to the wearer, and become a reminder of a life well lived. Janessa Leone’s brand mission is to revive a time when people treasured clothing as something to be kept and passed down to future generations, a meaningful item that transcends its value as a mere commodity"

How amazing is that? An ode to passing things down, breaking things in, and wearing them through your best and worst days, months, and years of your life!  Nothing better than a piece that tells a story! Not only are they amazing quality, they make any outfit a cute one and every bad hair day a good hair day! They're a must have.

Check out our Janessa Leone collection in store, soon to be online! We are the only store in Boston to carry these amazing hats!

  • Mama Lovin'

Growing up, my mom was seriously my idol. She was a my first style icon, my first love, my first best friend. And she still is all of that and more to this very day. She might even be reading this. (Hi Mom!) Mother's Day is just around the corner, and at the shop, we really just love our mama's. We know we aren't the only ones, so we took a deeper look into some of fashion's seriously stylish moms for a little eye candy and just simply inspiration. As a shop started by a mother-daughter dream team, we know that just because you're a mom certainly doesn't mean you should ever lose your sense of style and individuality. Be sure to stop by Flock and say hello with your mom, grandma, sister, BFF or any important women in your life. It's always Mother's Day here. XO // Britnie

  • Flockin' travel style!

Well guys, I don't mean to brag but I'm going on vacation pretty soon and I cannot wait! Been craving sunshine so badly lately and I'm looking forward to soaking up some rays and swimming in the ocean. Ahh, too excited to even contain myself. While packing my bag the other day, I realised I'm packing lots of Flock with me. Never a bad thing! I know no matter where I go or what I do I can rely on Flock to dress me up or down.

untitled_March 30, 2016Here's what I'm bringing with me: Some Maison Scotch shorts because let's be real. We definitely need versatile shorts to throw on over your bikini or maybe with a cute top for dinner. Lots of Wildfox. They're pieces are just easy to throw on and go! An easy, small cross-body bag, like an Alternative leather one! Also made sure to toss in my Free People lightweight chambray joggers and a crop top for a cooler day or maybe the plane ride home. And for those toes, there might be days where sandals aren't the best idea. So pick up on espadrilles or maybe some kilim flats! And for those who aren't heading away for a vacay, just have a day-filled adventure. Rock your Flock wherever you go! XO // Britnie

  • The new staple: Kimonos

Screen Shot 2015-03-19 at 10.42.13 PM
Put away those cardigans - Spring is just around the corner which means its time to pull out some more transitional pieces from your closet, and definitely more fun pieces. These are the pieces that you're going to find fundamental in a good Spring wardrobe. The weather will be chilly some days so you might need to layer differently depending on the day. One of my personal favorite layering pieces is the kimono.

I have a good amount of kimonos and I buy many different styles for the purpose of being able to style them in more than one way. I'm down to wear them in the rain, snow, sun, or just bangin' around my apartment. Pastels, neutrals, neon, fringe. I got it all and they're all as easy as the next one to wear whenever you want. Photographer Steph Larsen & I are here to show you just ONE of my favorite ways to wear a kimono. Flock recently got this new Julia Krochet Kimono by Ladakh in stock. A simple black crochet kimono, with just a little bit of fringe to add hat something extra that it's missing otherwise. Right now, it's about 30 degrees in Boston so of course there was no question about longer layers. Black and white is always stylish. Paired with ankle boots and a hat like I did, or spice it up and throw color on instead. Don't be afraid to wear it over a dress, tank, shorts, jeans, leggings. Anything. And in any color you want. Be bold and have some fun with it!

This kimono isn't on our website JUST yet, but you can always send an email to our rockin' store manager, Alex and get the hook-up beforehand ( The Julia Krochet Kimono comes in sizes small, medium, and large and costs only $88. Limited quantities so be sure to stop by or email us! We look forward to seeing you. XO // Britnie
