flock's story
What started as a shared vision between mother and daughter has become one of Boston's premiere boutiques featuring each season's freshest looks. Together, Lisa and Danielle Kupsc have introduced many exclusive designers and independent labels to Boston for the first time, and infused the shop—and its selection—with a whimsical air.
Opening their doors in September 2009, the mom/daughter team ventured to meld high-end, classic fashions with a fresh, down-to-earth aesthetic. Setting up shop in Boston's historic South End district was their first step; then they culled garments from up-and-coming New York fashion houses and hard-to-find California-based brands.
From the bold patterns and flirty silhouettes of Corey Lynn Calter dresses to the West Coast "ethical fashion" label Stewart+Brown—all accented by colorful, hand-crafted necklaces, woven belts and statement heels—Flock's selection caters to trend-setting mothers and daughters alike. The warm yet sleek interior, with its playful, nature-inspired touches, reflects that accessibility: Garments are draped from vintage cabinets and displayed on rustic tables, beside leafy plants that grow inside bird cages—and above the reach of resident pups, Roscoe and Bo, Danielle's friendly lab/basset hound dogs. Just a year after opening, Lisa and Danielle have created a boutique that showcases high-end, exclusive clothing in an inviting, inspiring space … and they've still got big plans ahead.
